Parsons Corporation Assistant Business Development Manager in Toronto, Ontario

Job Description:

As an Aviation Business Development Assistant Manager, you will support the development and delivery of major project pursuits within the aviation market in North America. You'll be joining the Aviation Sector performing capture and business development efforts, and will work collaboratively with leadership, management, subject matter experts, clients and other major stakeholders to help us win new business!

Responsibilities:

Coordinate inputs from the BD team, Technical teams, and other major stakeholders, to drive the capture process, ensuring the win strategy and commercial terms are being followed and met.

Assist in business planning, proposal preparation, negotiation of contracts, quality and constructability evaluations during pre and post award.

Specific deliverables may include win strategy development &

implementation, risk matrix preparation, identification of key suppliers and subcontractor strategy, financial check lists, and other related documents.

Develops proposals for services in response to invitations to bid, and provides guidance to Parsons technical, and proposal teams from inception to completion. Provide guidance on contract terms, pricing, and other important terms on a potential bid for work.

Works with Sr. Management and Business Development Management on growth strategies and plans.

Support our capital projects implementation, focusing on project management processes and controls.

Perform detailed analysis of RFP/RFQ/RFI documents to assess requirements and develop compelling proposal narratives that demonstrate our value proposition.

Review all proposal drafts created by others and combine into a cohesive and final document to ensure responsiveness, thoroughness, accuracy and quality.

We're looking for someone with strong, proven skills in the following areas:

  • Strong facilitation, leadership, and communication skills to lead capture teams through the pursuit lifecycle

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills (ability to write executive summaries, cover letters and other sections with input from technical subject matter experts)

  • Ability to inspire outstanding work from team members with a range of experience and technical abilities in the development of proposal documents

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a very dynamic work environment and demonstrate the ability to work with critical deadlines (evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines)

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments, with overlapping schedules, delegate responsibilities to team members to accomplish all tasks

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Desired Education/Experience

  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field to Aviation required. Masters degree preferred

  • 10+ years involving proposal management/Business Development /Project Management functions for a large, multi-national firm

  • Experience with Design/Build/P3 proposal/BD functions is required

  • Experience in Transportation infrastructure required

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

A thorough understanding of business development, proposal pricing, contract terminology, and client relationship management is required. The incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation skills. In addition, an exceptional ability to represent the Company favorably, to develop new clients, and to negotiate with key members of other firms, is also required.
