What You’ll Do

This carefully crafted development program serves as your launch pad towards an exciting and successful career at Canadian Tire, enabling you to contribute to our mission of building an innovative, world-class Canadian Tire Retail team. The program unfolds through three progressive eight-month rotations, each offering unique roles that shape your professional journey:

  • Category Business Analyst - In this pivotal role within our buying team, you will reside at the heart of our retail organization. Collaborating closely with Category Business Managers, you will leverage robust analysis and invaluable insights to curate a compelling and relevant product assortment for our stores. Your contributions will strengthen our brand's connection with customers while achieving category-level objectives and financial goals.

  • Forecast Analyst - As a skilled Forecasting Analyst, you will be responsible for creating and managing operational sales forecasts at the SKU level for an assigned category within Canadian Tire's diverse assortment. By considering regular sales, promotional activities, as well as seasonal or dealer ordering patterns, your forecasts will play a critical role in optimizing inventory management. With an unwavering focus on financial targets, you will actively monitor and adjust forecasts at aggregate levels.

  • Replenishment Analyst - In this multifaceted role, you will gain extensive operational experience by overseeing replenishment processes for specific categories. As a Replenishment Analyst, you will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the smooth flow of inventory into our Distribution Centres while promptly responding to changes in demand. Working hand in hand with Category Management, Forecasting, and Promotions teams, you will introduce exciting new products while enhancing existing assortments to meet promotional, regular, and seasonal demands. This role acts as a crucial intersection between Supply Chain and Merchandising, demanding unwavering accountability and delivering a direct impact on the bottom line.

    What You’ll Bring

We are looking for students with an expected graduation of Dec 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025 who are:

  • You are working toward a post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Retail Management, Data & Analytics, or a relevant discipline.

  • Previous exposure/experience to retail operations is an asset.

  • Creative and courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment

  • Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business

  • Critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize, to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business

  • Collaborative team players with superior communication and influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups

  • You have engaged in leadership experiences through academic pursuits and/or volunteer activities, case competitions or local initiatives
