National Grid ED3 Project Manager in Tipton, United Kingdom

The opportunity

We are looking for a highly organised ED3 Project Manager with strong planning skills to support the Director of ED3 in driving the delivery of the National Grid Electricity Distribution ED3 business plan working across the complete organisation.

As the right-hand person to the Director, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and executing key initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration, enabling insights through data, leading on planning and governance, to ensure operational effectiveness and maximum value into the ED3 plan.

The role can be based within any of our licence areas (West MIdlands, East Midlands, South Wales and South West) and travel may be needed across the territory of National Grid Electricity Distribution.

We offer a hybrid and flexible working approach, a mix of working in the office and the rest home working. Our standard working week is 37 hours, though we can also offer some flexibility in terms of hours / times if required.

You will be responsible for

• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Director of ED3 to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with organisational goals and objectives.

• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of strategic projects and initiatives within the ED3 team.

• Communication Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external communications, ensuring alignment and clarity of messaging across all stakeholders, enabling effective cascade to colleagues across multiple teams and geographies.

• Performance Monitoring: Support the establishment of KPIs and metrics to measure the performance of the ED3 delivery team, providing regular reports and analysis including data insights.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration between all functions and departments such as Asset Management, Customer Excellence, Connections, Distribution System Operator, Operations and the relevant Functions to streamline processes.

• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and support the development of mitigation strategies to ensure the delivery of the ED3 plan on time.

• Executive Support: Provide comprehensive support to the Director of ED3, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and preparation of presentations and reports for the Executive.

• Governance: support the Director of ED3 in executing effective corporate governance requirements e.g. compliance, obligations and conflicts of interest.

About you

• Degree level or equivalent business experience

• Proven experience within the energy or utilities sector, with a focus on project management.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive strategic decision-making.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to plan effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and demands.

• Demonstrate a flexible approach and “can do” attitude to work, able to manage ambiguity effectively.

• A high level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

• Experience of leadership is desirable.

What we can offer you

A competitive salary of £50,000 -£62,000– dependent on experience and location.
