TESSCO Technologies Vice President, Information Technology in Timonium, Maryland
Overview
The CIO will work with the IT organization and a seasoned executive team to define a clear, IT-enabled business transformation vision and manage complex change programs while continuing to deliver reliable IT services.
Key responsibilities:
Create a vision and objectives for IT-enabled capabilities that support business innovation for the organization
Establish a joint business/IT process to deliver product and service innovations supporting the innovation vision
Create objectives for the transformation of IT processes, capabilities, and operating model in support of the business transformation vision
Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders to gain their active support for the transformation agenda.
Establish and execute an ongoing communication program highlighting status, progress, and staff contributions for periodic transformation milestone achievements
Establish ongoing change management capabilities to support major innovation and transformation programs.
Prioritize business performance and growth.
Drive operational business performance by continually improving technology capabilities, competencies, and investments.
Establish an authentic rapport with others to ensure clear accountability for themselves, their staff, and colleagues.
Excel in delivering critical IT capabilities bydelivering operational basics such as risk and security management, strategic alignment of IT and business objectives, and project execution.
Specialize in complex technology initiatives. Manage technology change and deliver large technology implementations—multiyear, multiphase projects where the consistent and reliable operation is essential to multiple core business functions.
Responsibilities
Create a strategic Information Technology vision and roadmap for the organization that supports Tessco goals and builds on that vision
Utilize your business experience and your large scale SAP implementation experience to lead the Tessco digital transformation.
Partner with executive teams to establish business and system requirements for new technology projects
Build vendor partnerships, and oversee multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return
Leverage and maintain a deep knowledge on a broad range of vendor technology solutions; and select the most appropriate technologies to support the business
Improve appropriate IT organizational structure to support the needs of the business, including balancing the compliment of in-house and outsourced IT services
Prioritize and provide approvals and controls for projects across the organization as they relate to selection, acquisition and development of major information systems
Review major hardware, software and maintenance acquisition contracts to pursue master agreements to capitalize economies of scale
Create comprehensive approaches to cybersecurity and risk management
Drive culture by continually reinforcing the company’s values in all aspects of service delivery
Lead the development of the IT organization to ensure appropriate skills are in place to align with the overall strategy, including succession planning for unique skills
Qualifications
15+ years of career experience in technology
10+ years of experience in leading service, engineering and technical teams
SAP Ecosystem – Strong experience with SAP S/4 HANA. Experience with Commerce Cloud, Cloud Platform Integration, Analytics Cloud, Concur, Vertex, Vistex preferred.
Distribution / Supply Chain Subject Matter Expertise – Strong experience and understanding of wholesale distribution business and associated capabilities
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in a diverse environment
Experience leading complex projects
Able to articulate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills
5+ years of experience managing products, budgets and justifying resource needs to senior leaders and finance partners
Experience establishing and communicating vision, plans, and status
Significant leadership and expertise in cybersecurity, enterprise software, acquisition integration, cloud-based IT infrastructure, helpdesk management, and supporting software development
