A career in our Innovation Development practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients' redesign, redefine, and redeploy their assurance and/or tax departments to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You'll focus on assisting clients as they incorporate increased automation, machine learning, data & analytics, Open Source technologies into their processes to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making.
Our team helps our clients create a guided path to innovation by developing the right methods that generate insight based ideas, and to select, produce and commercialise the most valuable and viable results. You’ll focus on software driven innovation strategy, software technology diligence, operating model design, software product planning and management, and software architecture and cloud strategy.
As a Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines
Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors
Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities
Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications
Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria
Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
Responsibility for management of engagement financials
Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching

Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:
Java or Scala software development languages;
Cloud based platforms;
Natural language processing techniques and leading technologies;
Machine learning algorithms and leading technologies;
Web application design and application frameworks such as Play or Spring;
REST services and middle tier business layer design patterns;
Relational databases and SQL;
Database design, creation, manipulation and query;
NoSQL datastores; and,
Linux OS and development tooling as well as open source libraries.
Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:
Engaging with stakeholders, technology specialists and account managers;
Communicating to effectively and efficiently translate business requirements into technical specifications and test cases;
Developing strategies and road maps with IT architecture focus;
Leading a team of developers responsible for coding using object oriented design, implementation and maturation to take advantage of the language feature sets;
Assessing and reviewing code to establish it is efficient code which is concise and best utilizes system resources which can become constrained in a big data environment;
Refining requirements, self-identifying solutions and communicating to the team; and
