Position Summary

The Wellness-Health Coach serves as a coordinator and developer for wellbeing initiatives with consistent wellness program development, guidelines and delivery to diverse employee populations of Broward County Schools. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with positive interactions and open communication while meeting customers where they are on their journey to well-being. Display genuine focus on building trusting relationships and rapport with customers, internal partners and external vendors including wellness service providers. Create content for flyers, newsletters and announcements using evidence-based, nationally recognized sources. Deliver high levels of excellence with every opportunity to educate, create enthusiasm and increase participation. Must be organized, detailed, consistent, hold themselves and other accountable to reasonably meet customer's expectations.

This position is client-based and hybrid, working closely with the plan sponsor’s Benefits & Employment Services team with travel throughout Broward County. Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Join the plan sponsor's wellness team assisting in designing, facilitating and evaluating effectiveness of wellness programs that educate and influence employees at the worksite to lead healthy lifestyles.

  • Establish rapport with plan sponsors, engage leaders in data driven decision making regarding support for their employees.

  • Support wellness champion network including different levels of employer leadership and employees from worksite.

  • Presenting employee wellness program value to School District leaders, principals, various committees, wellness champions and unions to increase awareness, education and participation.

  • Manage wellness allowance expenses and provide monthly updates of balance sheet. Provide guidance and recommendations on eligible wellness expenses.

  • Maintain event tracker for wellness program events held at all work locations.

  • Proactively encourage healthy lifestyle behavior changes in wellness areas including nutrition, physical activity, weight management, stress management, tobacco cessation.

  • Identify the appropriate combination of wellness activities for recommendations on delivery and coordination of wellness programs, community and vendor programs, and monitors effectiveness of the program.

  • Evaluate and present health assessment data, organizational assessment, claim utilization data, employee survey data, biometric screenings or other data as appropriate.

  • Utilize preventive guidelines and general health and wellness strategies to achieve goals in the overall health of customers.

  • Perform research on relevant topics in health promotion and disease prevention, as required for specific customers.

  • Educate and refer customers on available health resources and Aetna Care Management programs and community resources as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with teams such as nutritionist, pharmacist, behavioral clinician, health educators, doctors, providers, wellness service providers as well as other internal and external partners.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on wellness and health improvement opportunities available within Aetna and the community and provides support and training for sales partners as needed.

  • Travel to multiple plan sponsor locations.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of experience with all aspects of event planning and preparation including wellness vendor management.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience creating promotional materials including flyers, newsletters and announcements using evidence-based, nationally recognized sources.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills; advanced technical skills using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Canva.

  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to Broward County locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Wellness Program Specialist

  • Certified Health Education Specialist

Education

Bachelors degree in Public Health or related field

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $91,800.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
