We are seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious Java Developer with significant Spring Boot experience. This individual will play an important role on the Digital Platform Team as we work to provide a consistent and reusable set of APIs for advisor, customer, and contract data. This hire will report to the Director of the Service Enablement Team and play a key role in the success of the team.
Skills required to ensure success include:
Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.
Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Documentation Architecture and Design: Knowledge of documentation architecture and design; ability to build efficient processes, use appropriate tools and technique , and create complete documentation portfolios for software or technology products.
Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.

3 years of development experience
Demonstrable proficiency in development of RESTful APIs using Spring Boot. This includes the ability to develop and consume these APIs.
Familiarity with Reactive Spring technologies that include the use of Reactor, WebFlux, Spring Data with R2BC, Reactive Mongo, and Reactive Redis.
Familiarity with Git Version Control Systems and best practices for version-controlled software development.
Familiarity with cloud-based services. Microsoft Azure is preferred, but we believe AWS knowledge can transfer.
Ability to query and modify data in multiple types of datastores including relational databases, NoSQL data stores, and graph databases via both management tools and in code.
Self-motivated, hard-working, and dedicated to excellence.
Productive without frequent direction but comfortable seeking input when tasks or requirements are unclear.
Able to communicate and work efficiently and constructively with team members.
Adept at learning new technologies and skills.
