The Business Analyst will support the delivery of new products, product functionality, and other enhancements as directed by Business Partners, IT, and GR Operations as it relates to Group Retirement business. This individual will be responsible for analysis of business requirements related to Group Retirement initiatives, development and execution of test plans, and validation of system changes. In addition, the Business Analyst will be acting more in a project coordination capacity with new projects impacting the GR Team, which will include collaboration with project managers, business partners, participation in project meetings, documentation of high-level test plans as well as testing timelines. The Business Analyst will acquire knowledge of Group Retirement products and end-to-end system processing utilizing the following tools, where applicable: ADO/VSTS Agile Tool, Digital Platforms, PARIS (OMNI) and ESpresso systems. This position will be part of the SSG / System Testing and Resolution team and New Ways Of Working (NWOW) at Equitable, working with the GR STAR Sub-Chapter Team using Agile methodology / NWOW principles.

The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst

  • Knowledge of Group Annuity Products and Business Processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Group Annuity Product Equitable systems (such as ESpresso, PARIS suite of platforms, ADO/VSTS)

  • Self-starter with strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to connect the product updates with how the system functions and what needs to change

  • Ability to learn how to define requirements and complete/execute test plans

  • Readiness to “roll up the sleeves” and to go outside comfort zone to learn

  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box

  • Ability to work/deliver in changes requiring tight timelines

  • Ability to adopt the Agile mindset and behaviors

Skills:

Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.

Business Process Design: Knowledge of business process design; ability to develop appropriate techniques to re-examine key processes and focus on optimizing organizational performance.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Knowledge of collaborative techniques and approaches; ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and working together across functions to solve business problems and meet business goals.

Data Gathering and Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques and processes; ability to gather and analyze data on the learning needs of a target population.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Design Thinking: Knowledge of concepts, principles, and processes of design thinking; ability to utilize the knowledge in designing new products and services and even improving organizational operation.

Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

Process Mapping/Flowcharting: Knowledge of the concepts of process mapping; ability to carry out the documentation of current and proposed manufacturing processes to identify and make improvements.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.
