About the Position

The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program is a strategic initiative designed to enable the National Grid’s US business to “Bring Energy to Life.” The goals of this innovative effort are to improve customer satisfaction, accelerate business performance, and enable employees to provide the best service they can by arming them with leading technology.

The AMI Change Management team is charged with helping to drive employee adoption of this industry leading technology. Our team is focused on creating awareness through buy-in and commitment of the new tools and systems.

As part of the AMI Change Management team, our Change Management Program Manager will be a critical contributor. This role is perfect for a self-starter who has demonstrated strong people and analytical skills. This candidate will be providing support to the change team while honing his/her/their change management expertise.

Reporting into the Business Readiness & Change Management Director, the Change Management Program Manager will play a critical role in enabling the successful deployment of change across multiple stakeholder groups. Positioned as a trusted business partner, this individual will develop strong stakeholder relationships and provide documented intel to support the transition of AMI ownership to the business. This role will help to resolve challenges, communicate requirements for success and provide training support to ensure the ultimate employee experience.

The successful candidate will ideally have had previous experience of participating in large scale transformation programs. He/she/they will be highly articulate and confident to engage at all levels across the business and ensuring quality and timely delivery of the assigned work.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management:

  • Plan, develop and report out on KPIs to monitor business transition and sustainment of ownership

  • Analyze data to understand employee adoption and support development of actions to enhance adoption experience

  • Coordinate overall transition plan, process, and timeline for each region

  • Build/update business transition processes, tools and templates

  • Follow-up on transition issues, risks and escalate when necessary

Facilitation:

  • Facilitate cross functional discussions to align people and process to new ways of working, skilfully navigating ambiguous conversations to clearly document roles and responsibilities with stakeholder approval

  • Support Governance Committee discussions representing relevant impacted stakeholder groups

Change Management:

  • Participate in stakeholder analysis to understand how to best engage those teams and customers impacted by new AMI technology

  • Assist Change Management Office team members to identify major changes with the new technology so that the team can design activities to help drive adoption, both internally and externally

  • Participate in training planning, design, and development for employees to ensure Go-Live success

  • Simplify complex program and technology concepts into relatable terms that business partners to ease the employee adoption experience with and working through others

Capability Requirements

  • Strong organizational / Project Management skills with proven experience of delivering quality outcomes, on time and with full transparency of risks, issues and assumptions

  • Ability to follow established processes to deliver quality outcomes, understanding hand-off and be able to suggest and apply improvements

  • Results driven with good business acumen to appreciate day to day business challenges

  • Expert engagement and communication skills, with proven ability to create clear and concise messages for multitude of stakeholders

  • Ability to actively build and maintain a network of internal relationships at all levels in the business

  • Strong interpersonal skills able to influence at all levels of the organization and the program

  • Strong People Management skills, able to drive a high performing team to not just deliver but to develop and grow

  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to clearly communicate these with others

  • Self-starter, able to work well with others, and on own initiative, to successfully drive through ambiguity keeping the customer at the heart

  • Ability to work in partnership with a number of consulting partners, and contractors maintaining and growing a ‘one team’ ethos mentality

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in change management

  • Industry expertise is a plus

  • Project / Program Management certification is a plus

  • Change Management Certification or relevant degree is a plus

  • Vizio or other process visualization tool experience is a plus

Salary

$116,000 - $137,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
