The HR Operations Consultant is responsible for overseeing Vendor Management Support and Service Operations for Human Resources COE. This role provides support, expertise, and training on the Corporate Sourcing and Procurement processes, including contracting, vendor risk review and SLA monitoring to allow for increased knowledge, organization, and efficiencies for the HR Organization. Additionally, this role oversees the management and execution of service activities, involved in delivering service to our customers – including oversight and of service centers, escalations, and mailbox management.

This role involves partnering with HR Vendor Managers and Sourcing & Procurement to assist with negotiating contracts, evaluating vendor performance, and building strong relationships with key vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. This role involves monitoring and evaluating compliance and audit issues, providing guidance on compliance matters, and implementing, controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory adherence.

This role ensures that the centers operate efficiently, maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, and comply with all relevant regulations and standards. The role will ensure that service center managers are managing to SLAs and KPIs and implementing strategies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performance Monitoring:

  • Track and analyze vendor performance metrics.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain review standards and procedures.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and address any issues or areas for improvement.

  • Ensure vendors comply with company standards and contractual obligations.

  • Monitor service levels and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing customer issues and complaints promptly and effectively.

  • Review service reports to continuously improve service quality.

  • Work with Service Center managers to develop strategies to enhance overall customer experience.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all vendor activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to vendor agreements and performance.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

  • Coordinates with internal and external auditors to develop and improve processes, policies and procedures that pertain to SOX compliance.

Risk Management:

  • Assess and mitigates risks associated with vendor and service operations.

  • Develop contingency plans for critical vendors and processes.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal departments across Human Resources, Sourcing and Procurement and legal teams to understand their vendor needs and ensure alignment with company goals.

  • Facilitate communication between vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Provides guidance, coaching, and support to the HR Effectiveness and Optimization team members, assisting them in navigating complex vendors and ensuring adherence to vendor standards, promoting knowledge sharing and best practice adoption to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Liaise with other HR departments, to ensure integrated service delivery.

In office schedule: This employee will need to work in office 2 to 3 days per week.

The base salary range for this position is $87,000 - $130,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10 years of experience in a relevant field (such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline).

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Self-starting with ability to manage multiple competing priorities in demanding environment.

  • Proven track record in maintaining strict compliance with leave laws and regulations.

  • Proficiency in a HR information system (HRIS), payroll system, and HR software and platforms and tools (e.g., Oracle HCM).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and/or certifications

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

  • Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Established leadership and mentoring capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, sourcing, and procurement, legal, benefits, and payroll.

Skills

Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.

Customer Experience Management: Knowledge of customer experience management; ability to implement strategies and techniques used to ensure that customers have a positive experience with the organization's products and services at every touch point.

Data Governance: Knowledge of tools and techniques of data governance; ability to develop and maintain an organization's data in order to meet business requirements.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Operational Risk: Knowledge of policies and processes for operational risk management; ability to use tools, data, and best practices to identify, assess, and manage operational risk exposures.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.

Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

Vendor Management: Knowledge of vendor management methodologies, technologies and processes; ability to gain increased value and excellent services from vendors, as well as costs control and risk mitigation throughout the deal life cycle.
