Job Summary

This posting is for one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

This position will provide financial management and consolidation of the Operating budgets and forecasts for Surry Power Station. In addition, this position will provide ad hoc analysis and support as required.

Specific duties include:

  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of 5-year O&M plan.

  • Analyze and monitor financial and operating performance.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analyses (actual versus budget/forecast). Provide analysis and prepare presentations for all departments.

  • Preparation of monthly forecast and flash.

  • Assist with monthly close and coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate financial results and reporting.

  • Prepare journal entries and monthly accruals.

  • Oversee the monthly estimates and year-end liabilities process for all departments.

  • Update detailed operating and financial reporting, working closely with multiple departments.

  • Identify trends and issues to ensure quality financial results.

  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis

  • Conduct monthly closings by the fifth business day of the following month.

  • Examine the content of assigned internal reports and assist with communicating internal reporting data in a simplified manner.

  • Track internal key performance indicator such as monthly overtime for business services.

  • Assist with Maintaining the Outage Database Tool and Manning Projections

  • Monitor Outage Tool database issues, log open items and resolve with database administrator.

  • Input, track and analyze manning plan projections and revisions. Assist with uploads of SAP data into Outage Tool database tables.

  • Validate the accuracy of database tables for the calculation of projections via the Outage Tool Excel Report.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Financial Analyst

2-3 years of related financial work experience required. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience.

Sr. Financial Analyst

5+ years of related financial work experience required. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP or another ERP software program is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Experience with managing, analyzing, and consolidating operational expenditures.

  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Highly motivated with an aptitude for continuous learning

  • Utility and/or relevant industry experience preferred but not required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
