The Mathematics Department at Stony Brook University expects to have one Simons Instructor (SUNY title of Lecturer) and one Gromoll Instructor ( SUNY title of Lecturer) position available beginning in the fall semester of 2025 contingent on funding availability. A Simons/ Gromoll Instructor position is a three-year post-doctoral level appointment with a competitive salary and reduced teaching. A research fund of $5,000 will be offered for scienti?c travel, inviting visitors and other research related expenses on a yearly basis; in addition, $2,000 will be provided to defray moving expenses in the ?rst year. Required Qualifications: Applicants are required to have earned a Ph.D (or foreign equivalent) degree in Mathematics before 8/31/25. Preferred Qualifications: It is preferred that applicants received their Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in 2018 or later, and that their research areas complement those of current department members.
