Senior Research Analyst Required Qualifications (As evidenced by an attached resume): High School Diploma or GED (foreign equivalent or higher). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biology or another related field. Experience conducting scientific field surveys in the marine environment. One (1) or more years of experience as a seasonal volunteer with Shinnecock Bay Restoration Project. Experience handling trawls. Brief Description of Duties: In support of the Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program for Dr. Pikitch in the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, the Sr. Research Analyst will work two (2) 12-hour shifts per month participating in fishery trawls. Therefore, the successful candidate must be willing and able to work in windy, hot and rainy conditions, handling otter trawls and their contents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail when field sampling. Duties: Attend and participate in fishery trawls. Other duties as assigned. Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. This position is seasonal (July through September). This is a part-time position that requires two (2) 12-hour shifts per month. Incumbent must be able to get to and from the Stony Brook Southampton Campus promptly for field days.
