Research Support Specialist Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's (Foreign equivalent or higher) degree in Chemistry or Pharmacy. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with synthetic organic chemistry, high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), thin layer chromatography (TLC), SPE methods, gamma counting and multichannel analyzers (MCA). One (1) or more years of radiopharmaceutical development and formulation experience. Experience with handling radioactivity and/or fundamental understanding of ionizing radiation. Experience with computers software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Apps, etc.). Brief Description of Duties: The Research Support Specialist will assist in the cGMP production of radiopharmaceuticals for clinical research at SBU and their ex vivo analysis. The incumbent must possess the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, as well as good written and oral communication skills. Follow SOPs for QA/QC using HPLC , GC and other equipment. Follow SOPs to produce clinical cGMP grade human use radiopharmaceuticals. Assist in the design and implementation of a Quality Management System. Ex vivo metabolite analysis. In vitro radiopharmaceutical validation. General laboratory housekeeping. Other duties as assigned. Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
