Assistant Technical Director, Content Editor - 2102267 Required Qualifications (As evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). Experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite. Experience with backstage duties in a theater setting. Experience with video editing and content creation. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in Theater, Digital Art, or other Arts Field. Three or more years in Digital Content Editing. Three or more years in Theater Production/Technical Directing. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite. Social Media content development & campaign experience. Experience with Final Cut Pro. Supervisory experience. Brief Description of Duties: This position will be responsible for both backstage duties as well as off stage content development. On the production side, the incumbent will be doing backstage technical work from loading and unloading scenery to working on lighting and sound and other digital technical needs like projection of our Films. This position would supervise crew of students and hourly workers and other performance needs. On the content development side, this position would develop video for events, promotional purposes, and social media needs. Assist in the supervision of and the loading and unloading of scenery and stage equipment as required by incoming performances, and the installation of lighting, or scenery or flying scenery, or costume maintenance and repair for productions. In the absence of the Production Manager or Technical Director, supervising and managing events at the Staller Center. Liaise with the House manager to ensure the backstage and the front of house are in communication for the proper running of a performance. Assume the duties related to "night of performance" Work as part of a running crew of a production With the Production Manager and Technical Directors, oversee training of student film projectionist, and the operation and screening of all films at the Staller Center including receiving and ingesting films for screenings. Content Editing: Video editing and raw recording and b-roll shooting, content creation, and generating new content ideas for Staller Center and Stony Brook Film Festival. Social media and short-form video content creation, and digital ad creation. Video and commercial design, including final product video creation following outline, scripts and shot lists, and additional video editing support for Marketing Director. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission. Special Notes: This is a full time appointment.
