The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides comprehensive services to 740 civilly committed clients. Services include sex offense specific treatment, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming and volunteer services, and health and wellness.
Our team in St. Peter, MN is seeking a dynamic, dedicated individual to join us for a unique and rewarding career opportunity as a Supervisor of Clinical Programming- Recreation. This position provides supervision to professional staff in development and implementation of clinical programming.
Responsibilities may include:
Directing department staffing including hiring, training, assigning/delegating employee work tasks.
Evaluating and managing employee performance.
Developing, overseeing, and providing ongoing supervision of Clinical Programming to ensure quality and consistency in the delivery of therapeutic recreation.
Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience that can include:
Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead
Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4)
A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - must include: 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions, 100+ hours per year time commitment; AND one of the following
Three (3) years professional level of experience in a mental health, substance use disorder, and/or sex offender specific treatment setting demonstrating the following:
Direct care of clients and/or patients including conducting recreation therapy programs and facilitating recreation activities.
Planning and development of therapeutic recreation programming activities to maintain departmental goals.
OR
Three (3) years of experience in rehabilitation services demonstrating the following:
Experience planning, organizing, and overseeing rehabilitation programs.
Knowledge of how to create, evaluate, and improve services that meet the needs of the population served.
Providing leadership in the development, expansion and maintenance of departmental priorities, tasks, and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
At least One (1) year ofexperience in mental health and/or sexual offender treatment.
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Park & Recreation, Corrective Therapy, Physical Education, or related field.
One (1) year of experience as a Recreation Therapist with responsibility for developing group and individual therapeutic recreation and/or corrective therapy programs, and monitoring and evaluating client progress.
