The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services within the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) division of agency.
The Forensics Services in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program, the Forensic Nursing Home, and Community Integrated Services. Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment. This position is specifically assigned to the Community Integrated Services Program which provides services to individuals who reside in the community throughout all 87 Minnesota Counties.
The Clinical Consultant provides advanced assessment, clinical consultation, person-centered support recommendations, and training for clinically complex individuals and their community support networks. The Clinical Consultant has a lead role to steer the outcome of services for persons committed as Mentally Ill and Dangerous (MI&D) who are (or preparing for) living in the community on provisional discharge from Forensic Mental Health Program. The Clinical Consultant develops and provides individualized, multi-disciplinary training and technical assistance to community providers and other professionals to: enhance their abilities to manage difficult behavioral and system issues; assist care providers to increase the stability of clinically complex individuals’ community living; and divert revocations of provisional discharges when safely possible. Given the integrated nature of Community Intergrated Services work, the Clinical Consultant functions as a generalist with expertise in clinical social work and with consultation as needed from colleagues with complementary expertise; the Clinical Consultant integrates multidisciplinary expertise to facilitate positive outcomes for clinically complex individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify as a Clinical Program Therapist 4 (CPT4) must have and maintain:
Master’s degree in behavioral health-related field; AND
Licensure/Certification as an independent behavioral health professional (i.e., LICSW, LP, LPCC, LMFT, BCBA, or LADC) AND
Three (3) or more years post-graduate experience providing clinical services.
OR
Doctorate degree in Social Work (DSW or PhD); AND
Licensure/Certification as an independent behavioral health professional (i.e., LICSW, LP, LPCC, LMFT, BCBA, or LADC)
Preferred Qualifications

Spanish language skills are a plus.
Creative presentation skills and public speaking skills to effectively train adult learners.
Knowledge of the social service funding, case management, and rules/laws governing services to persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities, mental illnesses, brain injury, and/or substance use disorders.
Working knowledge of licensing requirements and billing processes related to Home and Community-Based Services waivered services.
Familiarity with behavioral health and disability services and support resources.
