To serve as a team leader of a motor vehicle and driver license/identification card issuing team. In coordination with the supervisor the team leader would prioritize work, schedule and assign team members to work on specified work queues, and report on the work activities of the team in order to achieve DVS performance goals. The team leader would assist team members with resolving complex customer service issues and questions. Further, the team leader would coordinate with the supervisor and provide training to team members in motor vehicle and driver license/identification card issuing processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to provide training to others within the work unit on the program policies, procedures, and standards of administrative materials

  • Lead work skills sufficient to set work priorities, schedule, assign, direct, guide and report on the work activities of employees assigned

  • Data entry sufficient to examine, proofread, and compare records to ensure that accurate information is entered and updated to systems

  • Ability to explain the reasons for transactions, procedures, rules, and regulations so that others understand the information that is being given

  • Word processing skills sufficient to create, edit, and finalize emails, memos, and letters, for both internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in reviewing either motor vehicle applications or REAL ID applications, or both.

  • Graduate of one of the following public sector training programs: Project for Pride in Living, HIRED, Goodwill Easter Seals, Twin Cities Rise, Takoda, Hmong American Partnership, CLUES or similar Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) sponsored workforce development programs

  • Bilingual language proficiency

  • Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
