The Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior position is a temporary position with an end date of 12/31/2025.
This part-time position will work up to 25 hours per week, in office, at a DLI office building, located in St Paul.
This position exists to provide technical and administrative support services for the Department of Labor and Industry Human Resource function.
Responsibilities include:
Convert paper personnel files to electronic files.
Provide administrative support for Human Resources.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be enrolled at a credit granting institution or at a non-credit granting institution and must be carrying at least six semester (nine quarter) credits - must be in good academic standing.
If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, the student must be taking two or more classes per semester / quarter.
Computer technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, on-line databases, and internet.
Ability to set priorities, balance a workload, adhere to a schedule, and meet deadlines.
Critical thinking skills.
Communication and human relation skills sufficient to interact effectively with supervisory staff, co-workers, and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who may not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or common experiences.
Language skills other than English (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
