There are three (3) vacancies for this posting. These vacancies are being posted at 2 job class levels: SPA Intermediate and SPA Senior. Final job class will be determined based on successful applicant's qualifications.
The primary purpose of these positions are to assist or lead (based on existing credentials) in support local weatherization providers in making high quality improvements to homes that result in energy savings and greater health and comfort for income-eligible households. Field monitors do this through quality control monitoring and providing technical assistance. Field Monitors also help develop and improve weatherization programs and policies as directed by the Technical Proficiency Supervisor or Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
SPA Intermediate:
- Two (2) years professional experience in weatherization, residential construction (including apprenticeship), energy auditing, or related.
SPA Senior:
Three (3) years professional experience in weatherization, residential construction (including apprenticeship), energy auditing, or related.
A Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction, or related may substitute for one-year professional experience working in weatherization, residential construction, energy auditing, or related.
OR
- Current certification as a BPI Building Analyst, residential energy auditor, or USDOE Quality Control Inspector.
Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Experience writing and editing formal reports for external distribution.
Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts and principals in oral and written format with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize work responsibilities, manage a variety of tasks and deadlines, and work well independently.
Ability to interpret and analyze federal and/or state laws as well as department and division policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Building Science or a related field.
Experience in a Weatherization Assistance Program.
Quality Control Inspector certification.
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
Additional Requirements
