The Securities Unit is responsible for the state’s oversight functions relating to securities offerings including timeshares, franchises, unit investment trusts, and mutual funds. This position will review and process various securities applications including Mutual Funds, Unit Investment Trusts, Franchise Registration Renewals, and securities exemptions. This position is also responsible for processing the unit's daily registration deposits and entering the information into the databases. Furthermore, this position is responsible for monitoring the unit's general phone line, and e-mail inbox, and respond as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

2 (two) years of experience that supports analyzing data, applications, or similar work in a financial related field or provides administrative support.

Applicants who meet the above experience will be further evaluated based on the following:

  • Ability to read and comprehend financial statements.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend/understand, and apply registration laws and regulations.

  • Communication and human relations sufficient to interact effectively with supervisory staff, co-workers, and the public.

  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in securities, financial, and investment principles.

  • Experience with compliance or operations within the Securities Industry.

  • Private securities market experience which includes franchises, mutual funds, and other securities offerings.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
