State of Minnesota Senior Network Designer - ITS5 in St. Paul, Minnesota

Job Summary Job Summary This position will provide network design, automation, and management for the MNIT Enterprise Wide Area Network (WAN) service delivery, used to support Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) and customer intranet and internet connectivity. The position will provide senior network design on MNIT Enterprise WAN optical infrastructure, documentation, technical coordination on installation, and testing of WAN services. The position will also be responsible to plan, organize and implement statewide technology projects as well as work with cross-agency technical teams to examine the potential of emerging technologies utilizing IP converged network protocols that serve Voice, Video, and data IP applications. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume: This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of IT experience that includes: * Experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting optical networks (ex: Cisco ONS, Ciena, Ekinops, CWDM, DWDM) * Experience with network management systems (ex: Cisco Prime, EPNM, SolarWinds, Ciena or other SNMP management systems) * Routing and Switching Experience * Lead work experience A Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, OR related Bachelor’s degree substitutes for two years, OR related Associate’s substitutes for one year. This position requires a driver's license for occasional travel between agency based offices.
