This position serves our partners at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). MNIT MnDOT supports an agency with technology integrated into all areas of business. From business intelligence and solutions for critical transportation infrastructure to planning and operating a safe, efficient, and reliable multimodal transportation system, the team connects people and markets across Minnesota.

As the Senior Data Warehouse Developer, you will design, develop, and support data warehouses and data lakes using a variety of technologies. You will be responsible for the technical analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of IT data warehouse solutions as needed by Business or IT. This position works on delivering technology including Oracle PL/SQL Packages, batch processing, JAMS enterprise job scheduler, ETL / API to support downstream sub-systems, data warehouses, and data lakes. It will playa critical role in developing and migrating the data warehouse on-premises and into the Azure environment. The senior data warehouse developer will act as a subject matter expert in PeopleSoft financials, human resources, and procurement foundational data. You will work closely with architects, subject matter experts, other data, and application developers for department-wide integrations. This position will be involved with the most complex and critical systems at MnDOT.

This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

  • Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

  • Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

*This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last until 06/29/2027.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience designing, developing, and supporting Oracle data warehouses using PL/SQL.

Experience must include:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in database design, PL/SQL programming of packages and procedures

  • In-depth grasp of Oracle data warehousing principles, relational databases, multidimensional data modeling

  • Experience in orchestrating complex data integration workflows, optimizing data transformations, ensuring data quality, and managing end-to-end ETL processes.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving

A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert understanding of PeopleSoft (SWIFT) financials, HR, and procurement database design and table logic.

  • Five (5) or more years of IT related experience designing, developing, and supporting Oracle data warehouses using PL/SQL.
