This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul. After completing the probationary period, the position may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to work in the office a minimum of one day per week or more depending on business need. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.

As the Real Estate Leasing Specialist, you will prepare, negotiate, and complete different types of leases such as right of way leases, rail bank leases, and leases drafted by other staff. Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring leases comply with state laws, Federal Highway Administration policies and agency policies and procedures,

  • Reviewing and processing limited use permits between MnDOT and other governmental entities to use right of way for highway purposes,

  • Monitoring property management, and

  • Providing training and guidance to other agency staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of professional experience demonstrating:

  • Experience evaluating lease agreements or limited use permits for compliance.

  • Experience applying federal, state, and local real estate regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Property management experience.

  • Experience applying right of way and highway use laws.
