In the 2023 legislative session, the Governor’s Office, Minnesota legislature, and leaders for children and families worked in partnership to pass legislation establishing the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to create a sustainable, public face for children’s issues in state government. This new cabinet-level agency brings together programs centered on children and families, including child care and early learning, child support, child safety and permanency, economic support and food assistance, and youth opportunity. Formerly a part of the Department of Human Services, the new Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Agency became effective on July 1, 2024

This position will provide strategic support and leadership in the coordination of planning, implementation, evaluation, budgeting and reporting for the Preschool Development Grant. This position supports grant activities, the coaching network and learning management system, and leads the facilitation of key cross-agency efforts of the Interagency Leadership Team.
Responsibilities include:
To provide strategic leadership and coordination of Preschool Development Grant cross-agency grant activities and special projects so that completion of all grant activities and accountability for meeting appropriate outcomes and timelines is met.
With the support of theData Analytics and Operations Supervisor, ensure that development, implementation, and evaluation of grant activities are on schedule and within budget to meet timelines and cost constraints using appropriate management tools.
Coordinate the planning, implementation and reporting for the grant.
Facilitate strategic internal and external communications to ensure key partners are familiar with grant activities.
Complete all required reporting to meet federal grant requirements.
Support key activities of the Interagency Leadership Team, a group of cross-agency Directors overseeing programs that support children and families.
Perform other duties as assigned and serve as an effective member of the Preschool Development Grant team and Early Learning Services division by contributing so that division responsibilities and activities are accomplished in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of professional experience in public assistance program/government contracts and/or grants management that demonstrates the following:
Experience with project planning and operations.
Experience facilitating workgroups or teams towards a common goal.
Experience preparing and reviewing reports, memos, and correspondence on grant activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
Knowledge of the structure and function of Minnesota's early childhood care and education system.
