Two (2) positions will be filled by consideration of all applicants to this posting.

These positions provide lead administrative support to Risk Assessment/Community Notification Unit (RA/CN) directors, managers, and other staff by providing support to fulfill legislative mandates under Minn. Stat. §§ 244.05 and 244.052 including the creation and processing of End of Confinement Review Committee (ECRC) materials. These positions provide clerical support to unit staff with preparation of communications, management of workloads, and tracking of electronic documents, reports, and packets using ODocS, COMS, DOC databases, and Microsoft Suite. These positions also fulfill management needs, provide back up coverage of duties for other support staff in the unit, and assist with special projects as requested.

To promote a culture of flexibility, we offer staff a hybrid work environment that varies by team, position, and business needs. These positions are eligible to telework 2-4 days per two-week pay period. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Teleworking employees are required to live in Minnesota or a bordering state in a county along the Minnesota state line.

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held .

  • Skill in data entry sufficient to enter data into specific databases or tracking systems; maintain accurate records and reports; locate, identify, and correct data entry errors; and receive and review source documents, compare documents to database information, and edit documents.

  • Knowledge of and skill in document and records management sufficient to accurately file and categorize electronic documents and maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information.

  • Skill in using spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, to enter, compile, store, and retrieve data.

  • Ability to respond effectively to clients, coworkers, and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures (in person, in writing, on the phone, and through presentations and other electronic correspondence).

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • One or more years of administrative support experience.

  • Experience in and knowledge of the criminal justice system and terminology.

  • Experience and familiarity with concepts, documentation, processes, and management related to persons who have committed sexual offenses and persons who have survived sexual offenses.

  • Knowledge of the Minnesota Data Practices Act, Community Notification Act, Minnesota Statute 611A, and/or MN DOC policies related to community notification, predatory offense registrants, victim notification, and Haven.

  • Experience using DOC-specific databases, such as the Correctional Operations Management System (COMS).

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
