Trane Technologies Instructional Systems Developer (Instructional Design) in St Paul, Minnesota

Our team is looking for a Lead Instructional Systems Developer to support our Trane Commercial Sales and Controls training operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with interest or experience in instructional design and learning development, a keen attention to detail and a passion for engagement.

This role is based in White Bear Lake, MN, with the opportunity for hybrid flexibility as business priorities allow.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Trane Building Automation System (BAS) controls technical training team and other subject matter experts (SME) in design and development of materials for self-directed e-learning, live-virtual, hybrid and in-person training adhering to best practices for adult learning and following established methodologies.

  • Build and manage working relationships with external training and development vendors to cost effectively implement development projects as assigned.

  • Ensure the desired result of the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process of ‘Customer Satisfaction’ is consistently met. This means the delivery of cost-effective instructional programs that adequately meet established learning needs and are provided to the right people at the right time.

  • Bring focus to the curriculum development discipline and ensure Trane e-learning, live-virtual, hybrid and in-person training curriculum is properly evaluated, developed and delivered, and that it remains current; ensuring that the business obtains the highest Return on Investment (ROI).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Solid Instructional Systems Design and eLearning Development skills

  • Experience with eLearning development tools such as Camtasia, Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise and Review) and Vyond to provide creative training solutions

  • Self-Management skills that allow you to work both independently and collaboratively on a team

  • Understand internal group’s various requirements. Anticipates obstacles and makes provisions for overcoming them. Plans courses of action before acting. Ensures timely delivery of services or products.

  • Demonstrates active listening and communications skills. Must be able to articulate and present ideas in a clear, concise and logical manner. Ability to communicate with and understand highly technical subject matter experts and translate material into curriculum for less technical learners.

  • Build successful internal and external employee and vendor relationships to foster productivity and a sense of urgency that provides superior customer and end-user experiences.

  • Communicate and interact effectively within teams, management, SME’s & vendors to facilitate effective resolution to systems and curriculum content development projects barriers and problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate, Associates or Bachelor’s degree with experience in Instructional Design or Education

  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Technical aptitude and experience, preferably in controls/HVAC systems or related industry

  • Project management skills – Experience with planning, analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation actions that keep project on-time and within budget.

  • The ideal candidate will be a life-ling learner, seeking new course development tools and continually building development skills and knowledge to ensure courses delivered are effective and state-of-the-art.

Base pay for this position is $65,000 to $95,000.
