The Human Resource Transaction and Leave Management Coordinator is responsible for providing all necessary coordinated services to management and employees of Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) and customers. The position is responsible to integrate contract language, federal and state law, and administrative policies/procedures in processing all MMB transactions and leave management transactions and perform other HR personnel functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in Human Resources or similar experience that includes:

  • Experience administering FMLA and other types of leave requests including determining eligibility and evaluating, processing, and tracking requests.

  • Experience applying federal, state and/or employment contract language, personnel rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to employee benefits, transactions and/or payroll.

  • Experience with database management, electronic spreadsheets, and word processing software sufficient to track HR data, create spreadsheets, and draft presentations or correspondences.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively compose and deliver responses to requests for information, meet with prospective applicants, and professionally represent the department.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.

  • Strong customer service skills sufficient to assist with and respond to requests from internal and external customers in a tactful, effective and timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in human resources or a related field.

  • Good judgment and the ability to analyze complex situations, problem-solve and make decisions.

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, policies, rules and regulations sufficient to evaluate and determine benefit eligibility.

  • Familiarity with ADA and Workers’ Compensation.

  • Experience using HR data management systems such as SEMA4 (Statewide Employee Management) or similar systems sufficient to review employee and position information, pull standard reports, and process personnel transactions.
