This position exists to serve as a Lead Worker to support, monitor and coordinate the CareerForce Information and Assistance team which provides direct assistance to job seekers, employers, and staff for CareerForce services, events, and programs. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for processing employer applications on the state labor exchange. This position serves as a technical expert for managing content on CareerForceMn.com and MinnesotaWorks.net, as well as supporting career labs with Cybrarian. The incumbent coordinates and communicates with MNIT and Performance and Technical Management using Agile methods to provide support for these platforms as well as User Acceptance Testing. The position will also oversee and coordinate the CareerForce Corner partnership with the Minnesota Department of Education. The incumbent is responsible for communication with Job Service Managers and Library Directors across the state as well outreach efforts and evaluation of the services. This position is responsible for assisting with the coordination of CareerForce Statewide Workshops.

This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligible and is occasionally required to be on-site at the office. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment and may telework from anywhere in Minnesota or a neighboring state. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience in a role providing employment services, leading teams, or a similar role as determined by the agency

Or

Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or related field as determined by the agency and one (1) year of experience in a role providing employment services, leading teams, or a similar role as determined by the agency.

Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

Skill in:

  • Problem solving to identify and resolve customer support and technical issues

  • Organization to manage workload, competing priorities and assign work to staff to meet productivity requirements

  • Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel to manage, track, and report data

  • Communication to build relationships with job seekers, employers, and staff/partners; facilitate workforce training participation; and deliver presentations to groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a help desk or call center environment.

  • Experience using CareerForceMN.com and Minnesotaworks.net.

  • Ability to coach and mentor staff.

  • Experience providing career guidance and coaching.

  • Skill communicating in a secondary language.
