The Financial Compliance Monitor will complete high level sub-grant desk reviews to ensure financial compliance with State and Federal funding requirements. This position will determine issues of noncompliance by reviewing sub-grantee financial processes, determine whether funding is being spent in accordance with state and/or federal regulations, assist sub-grantees when noncompliance issues are discovered by working in tandem with OJP grant managers and their grantees.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience analyzing income/expense transactions and ability to exercise judgement in the areas of noncompliance, interpreting financial data and budgets.
Knowledge of basic accounting skills and/or high level math skills to interpret, analyze and discern financial reports.
Experience with Microsoft Office including use of spreadsheets.
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
Candidates that meet the above qualifications will be further evaluated on:
Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and by phone with internal and external parties
Math, reading and writing skills sufficient to analyze financial reports and provide technical assistance and training to all stakeholders
Ability to provide clear and positive feedback when noncompliance issues are revealed
Ability to prepare written assessments and reports
Preferred Qualifications
Experience reading and understanding state and federal laws, statutes and regulations
Experience working independently and providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. Job duties will include a majority of hours doing computer-based work each day, when not conducting site visits with grantees.
