State of Minnesota Discrimination Investigator - Affirmative Action Off 2 in St. Paul, Minnesota

Job Summary Job Summary * The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. The Discrimination Investigator provides support to the Office of Equity & Diversity in its implementation and enforcement of agency discrimination and sexual harassment policies by conducting timely investigations from employees and members of the public. The Discrimination Investigator will demonstrate discretion, ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism in their role and possess an awareness of equal employment and affirmative action issues and sensitivities. Responsibilities include: * Providing complaint intake and support; * Requesting and analyzing relevant documents; * Conducting neutral investigations and writing reports of findings of fact; * Assisting in the development and presentation of training for agency staff; and * Performing other duties. There is a flexible schedule and some telework. Occasional in-state travel is required approximately 20% of time; may also be required to work a night shift approximately 5% of time. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Two years of professional experience conducting workplace discrimination investigations that demonstrates: (NOTE: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, Psychology or a closely related field substitutes for one year of experience) * Experience applying workplace discrimination and sexual harassment policies; and * Experience writing reports of factual findings. Preferred Qualifications * A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, Psychology or a closely related field, or a Juris Doctor. * Experience working in the public sector in a unionized environment. * Experience assisting in training activities.
