Hybrid Work and Flexible Hours Options Are Available.**

This position is responsible for the Commission’s data complication and analysis efforts. The role will compile and analyze utility-reported and other relevant public data to inform Commissioners and the public about key electric and gas regulation issues, including improving existing data accessibility. Topics covered will include utility service quality, affordability, utility performance, distributed energy resources, electric vehicles, resource planning, generation adequacy, and more. This position consults with Commission staff and provides leadwork direction and review to data student worker(s).

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

2 years of professional experience demonstrating expertise supporting research and data analysis for energy or utility-related programs.

Experience must include:

  • Understanding of data analyses and research techniques.

  • Demonstrated practical experience with data collection, data manipulation, data transformation and interpretation.

  • Skilled at using MS Excel and other MS Suite programs.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Environmental Science, or another related fields may substitute for one (1) year of work experience.

Master’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Environmental Science, Public Policy or Administration, or another related fields may substitute for two (2) year of work experience.**

Preferred Qualifications

  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.

  • Experience working with energy power flow, capacity expansion, and/or forecasting modeling software ( e.g. Plexos, Encompass, LoadSEER ).

  • Experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, R, GIS.

  • Project management experience.

  • Strong human relations and communication skills; communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; respond openly to requests and concerns.

  • Experience and/or knowledge of energy issues or energy regulation.
