This position exists to perform customer service specialist work for the Credentials unit within MnDOT’s Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations (OFCVO). Tasks include serving all customers via phone, online, in person or email, in addition to performing administrative activities (i.e. word processing, processing mail, scanning, filing, etc.) required for the efficient and effective operation of the section. This position also provides administrative services to other internal and external customers and partners of the Office and MnDOT, as needed.

This customer service representative is often the first point of contact for customer inquiries to OFCVO. The customer service representative must provide excellent customer service when greeting customers in person and over the phone. The incumbent will adhere to MnDOT’s high standard of customer service; and will treat customers, fellow employees, and other stakeholders fairly, courteously, and professionally at all times. The incumbent will also ensure the reception area (i.e., supplies, customer work surfaces, and pamphlets/handouts) is professionally maintained at all times.

MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

· Customer service skills sufficient to help clientele with data system entries, filling out forms, work with customers and direct them to appropriate clientele and research for answers;

· Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, data entry.

· Administrative skills (eg. answering phones, updating calendars, keeping receptionist area organized).
