The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Communications and Content Development Senior Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Key member of the 3M Enterprise Operations Strategy and Initiatives leadership team leading the creation of broader operations content and “storytelling” throughout the organization
Building and executing communication strategies for 3M Enterprise Operations strategic initiatives for internal and external audiences that align with 3M’s vision and strategies
Working cross-functionally with domain expertise to develop impactful speeches, scripts, social media content, talking points, PowerPoints, videos, visuals, two-way communications and other materials that engage the organization, including senior executives. This includes leveraging technology to engage employees in new ways
Content optimization through collaboration with operations leaders to simplify, standardize, replicate materials to most efficiently tell the operations story
Assisting and aligning with other 3M Communications teams in planning and execution of operations communications
Ensuring content and concepts extend into other communication efforts across the broader 3M Communications team.
Facilitate and/or create content for operations communications channels (Quarterly Connect, Learning Table and Leadership Conference).
Establish/refine editorial processes to ensure channel collaborators' content meets business objectives and campaign goals, follows appropriate editorial style guidelines, and meets brand standards.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of experience in marketing, communications, content creation or technical writing in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in science, engineering and/or supply chain
MBA or Masters degree preferred
Experience working in or supporting a technical organization
Corporate or business communications experience
Experience developing compelling stories through presentation materials
Expert PowerPoint skills
Strong organizational and execution skills. Attention to detail is critical.
Experience working on confidential initiatives
Strong collaboration skills
Ability to translate strategic plans into execution of detailed tactical content and/or communication plans
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to persuade others in matrix environment
Customer-/client-centric mindset combined with contagious enthusiasm and passion
Travel: May include up to 10%
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
