This new cabinet-level agency brings together programs centered on children and families, including child care and early learning, child support, child safety and permanency, economic support and food assistance, and youth opportunity. Formerly a part of the Department of Human Services, the new Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Agency became effective on July 1, 2024.

As a Child Support Payment Specialist you will analyze, interpret, and implement child support program policies, procedures, processes, and automated systems support to internal and external customers. Provide a variety of financial processing and business services to customers. Oversee the accuracy of receipted child support payments. You will also support effective and efficient Payment Center operations and serve as a resource and provide customer service to county workers and public callers by responding to telephone and written inquiries. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, interpret, and implement child support program policy, procedures, processes, and automated systems support to internal and external customers.

  • Provide a variety of financial processing and business services to customers.

  • Oversee the accuracy of receipted child support payments. Support effective and efficient Payment Center operations.

  • Respond to written and telephone inquiries regarding child support policies, procedures and automated systems from all customers listed under “Clientele”.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of customer service experience in:

  • A financial/banking call center environment where duties focused on:

  • Providing customer service to clients by responding to call/inquiries

  • Detailed problem solving using a pc/desktop online systems to research, clarify/correct financial accounts/transactions

OR

  • A county child support work environment as a case worker/child support specialist or equivalent job title doing work focused on child support case reconciliation and/or assisting child support officers or others in resolving issues related to child support financial transactions using PRISM and other related data systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Child Support knowledge

  • PRISM system knowledge

  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
