The position is located at Central Office in St. Paul. The position will have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to complete a telework agreement. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office on occasion.

This position performs federal project cost analysis and the preparation and approval of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) final vouchers for federal projects so that all costs and federal revenues are reflected accurately, and federal dollars are maximized. Additionally, the position initiates and performs modifications to federal funding amounts on projects so that federal funds are utilized effectively, including analysis of project accounting and funding structure and original modifications to projects, modifications during the life of the project, and modifications at project close. The position performs other related financial management tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance

OR

One year of professional accounting or finance experience

OR

Two years of technical or advanced clerical accounting or finance experience

Experience must demonstrate:

  • Experience working with a large accounting system such as the Minnesota Statewide Employee Management System (SEMA4) or Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT).

  • Experience auditing or reconciling financial transactions for compliance.

  • Experience creating and manipulating financial reports.

An associate degree in accounting, business, or finance may substitute for one year of technical or advanced clerical accounting or finance experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding for compliance.
