nVent Director of Product Management, Data Solutions in St Louis Park, Minnesota

This candidate will be an influential part of our fast-growing Data Solutions segment. This role combines all traditional responsibilities of a leadership Product Management position, with the addition of “system knowledge” for all aspects of data center liquid cooling solutions.

Our Director of Product Management will transform the Data Solutions business through driving the creation of outstanding business models. This individual will work closely with customers and gain insights on the value we can create in delivering data center liquid cooling solutions. This role will also combine ample experience in commercializing such solutions to lead our revenue and income growth.

The position will cross- functionally collaborate with various business functions such as Sales, Engineering, Solution Architects and Marketing to ensure the most efficient identification, development, deployment, and use of nVent’s data solutions portfolio – with emphasis on data liquid cooling solutions and networking.

In this role you will:

Define Product Strategy

• Proactively steer strategies by working with external clients and cross-functional partners to define, develop, and commercialize new data center liquid cooling solutions

• Lead the data center liquid cooling solutions strategy planning process, roadmap definition, and pricing models

• Analyze market and business trends, develop tactics and programs to grow market share through strategically positioned nVent products to improve competitive stance!

• Collaborate with Marketing and help lead Observational Voice of Customer (OVOC) activities, design and handle customer trials of new solutions, benchmark driven offerings, and build value propositions/value walks that promote commercial success

Manage the Product Line

• Exhibit innovation and confidence when test launching Minimum Viable Products for rapid calibration and redirection as needed

• Willing to experiment with new and untested business models and adapt roadmaps to bring together value as revealed from customers

• Own related Product Line portfolio from cradle to grave, including obsolescence planning

• Lead related New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with an emphasis on driving value creation for Data Solutions

• Drive development of content for sales tools, training material, and marketing collateral

• Support event campaigns to generate product awareness and demand

• Develop innovative pricing strategies and product policies in collaboration with Marketing

• Conduct esteemed product line analysis and report on critical measures, trends, P&L performance

Provide Product Support

• Provide Subject Matter Expert input and guidance in support of customers, technical inquiries, internal and external training

• Support sales, marketing, technical/field support, and channel partners with the key product knowledge and technical expertise

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or related field of study. Marketing and work experienced in an adjacent field also ideal.

• Master's degree in engineering subject area or business is highly preferable

• Work experience and technical understanding of the data center infrastructure industry, strong experience in liquid cooling preferred.

• Ideally 15+ years in Product Management Leadership or Engineering in a similar field

• Sophisticated technical background, including developing, testing, promoting data center liquid cooling solutions

• Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw significant conclusions from business/financial data

• Able to travel internationally, work remotely or on-site
