nVent Global Compliance Director in St Louis Park, Minnesota

The Global Compliance Director will be responsible for the implementation, management and continuous improvement of the compliance program. This role includes key compliance initiatives, including policies and procedures, training and communications, investigations, third-party diligence screening, and compliance program evaluations and risk assessments. This role involves close coordination and collaboration with the general counsel, other senior leadership team members, and​ members of the legal and compliance team, as well as internal audit, finance, and human resources. This position will report to the Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Compliance and is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

W HAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION :

  • Develop, enhance, and implement effective compliance policies and procedures.

  • Manage a team of compliance professionals, support the individuals’ professional development, and mentor staff.

  • Manage, coordinate, and conduct periodic and annual reviews and risk assessments of the company’s compliance policies and procedures.

  • Identify potential areas of risk and develop controls to mitigate those risks.

  • Lead projects relating to the enhancement of compliance policies and procedures, internal controls, and systems.

  • Develop and deliver training on a broad range of compliance-related topics for new and existing personnel.

  • Monitor compliance with nVent's policies and procedures.

  • Keep abreast of changes in applicable regulations and implement appropriate changes to compliance practices and policies.

  • Embed a strong culture of ethics and compliance and program awareness.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; JD preferred.

  • 10+ years of relevant global compliance experience gained at a law firm, consulting firm, or U.S.-based corporate in-house legal or ethics and compliance department, managing and advising on global compliance and ethics risks and regulations. 

  • Broad knowledge of global manufacturing businesses is preferred.

  • Experience with global anti-bribery, modern slavery, trade, and global import/export compliance laws and regulations.

  • Strong communication skills involving different cultures and levels of an organization.

  • Ability to build and foster strong business relationships and provide seamless collaboration across a matrix environment.

  • Proven talent leadership success.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent analytical and strategic decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently and as a team member.

  • Domestic and international travel required.
