About This Job

The Public Relations, Creative Solutions & Brand Marketing Communications Group is responsible for achieving greater synergies between the marketing functions that amplify, reinforce and protect the Commerce Brand.

The Group focuses on public/media relations, communications strategies, social media communication strategies, brand content marketing strategies, graphic design, video & creative solutions. This internship will be a shared position between Public Relations and Brand Content.

Essential Functions • In support of public relations, the intern will have the opportunity to write and distribute news releases. • Write and distribute talking points as needed. • Update and maintain the company’s awards and recognition and media center and page on website. • Prepare monthly PR reports with metrics and distribute to appropriate parties. • Write blog content and manage the workflow process associated with publishing the content. • In support of brand content, the intern will have the opportunity to plan content and write articles and posts for social media as well as commercebank.com. • They will also be asked to participate in brand reviews of articles and other marketing materials to ensure quality and consistency with the Commerce brand tone of voice and positioning.• Attend and participate in meetings and other projects and research as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills required. • A self-starter, deadline oriented, ability to manage and successfully move forward multiple projects at one time. • Strong writing and communications skills plus professional demeanor required.

Education/Experience• Qualified candidate will be a Junior/ Senior pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field. • Public relations and writing experience a plus.

Opportunity is June and July. Monday – Friday. Average 20-25 hours a week. Flexible work schedule. Clayton Location
