This role requires full time on site presence.

Your role

CBC has an amazing opportunity for individuals to join our team in St. John’s, NL as Editor assigned to local programs and operating as a production technician in our Media Centre. Editing is one aspect of the role, coordinating recordings of feeds, live interviews using virtual platforms and managing video stox are part of the daily workflow.

This role requires full time on site presence.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Excellent production skills in video and audio.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, solid interdepartmental knowledge, and the ability to multitask are all required.

  • Understanding of file-based production workflow, systems and tools.

  • Knowledge of or experience cataloging digital stox collections.

  • Demonstrated professional experience using various news platforms, including digital, social, radio and television.

  • Familiarity with video, audio, online editing tools, Content Management Systems, and Social Media.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment but also able to work without direct supervision.

  • Openness to diverse perspectives and ideas, and differing points of view is critical.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Knowledge of journalistic standards and practices is an asset.

  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, evenings, early mornings, weekends and/or holidays when required.

  • Two years of comparable and relevant experience plus a degree or diploma from an accredited school is preferred.
