This position will provide contract administration/direct engineering supervision on bridge/highway construction projects to ensure compliance with contract provision and MnDOT policies.

This position is located at St. Cloud HQ. This position will have the flexibility to telework part time (hybrid schedule) or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to complete a telework agreement. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office 3 days a week.

NOTE: THIS POSTING REPRESENTS A MULTI-LEVEL POSTING. IF THIS POSITION IS NOT FILLED BY A QUALIFIED APPLICANT AT THE ENGINEER SENIOR LEVEL, THE POSITION WILL BE FILLED AT THE GRAD 2 ENGINEER LEVEL.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for Engineer Senior:

To qualify for Engineer Senior, applicants must meet all the following:

• Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)

Minimum Qualifications for Engineer 2 Graduate:

To qualify for Engineer 2 Graduate, applicants must meet all the following:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or its equivalency as rated by NCEES/EAC.

• A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

• Two years post-graduation civil engineering work.

Please Note:

• A master’s degree in civil engineering or construction engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or its equivalency as rated by NCEES/EAC substitutes for one year of post-graduate civil engineering work.

OR

• Received a passing score on the Minnesota Principals and Practices of Civil Engineering (PE) Exam.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of all phases of construction including surveying, material testing, earthwork, bridges, safety, and traffic control, etc.

• Experience preparing cost estimates for all items required to implement supplemental agreements.

• Knowledge of soils engineering principles, highway drainage engineering principles, and traffic engineering principles.

• Knowledge and experience with MnDOT policies, procedures and state and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
