We are seeking a Programmer Analyst for the iAdapter Install and Support department. The selected candidate will provide technical support, and perform installations and upgrades for the iAdapter, a software interface/translator that allows Jack Henry core software systems to integrate with in-house and third-party complementary software applications. Support may be for external or internal (Jack Henry) customers. This position can be worked remotely within the United States.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Provides programming support for various interfaces.

  • Utilize SQL and Embedded SQL to diagnose and solve technical issues.

  • Troubleshoot and debug code and network data communications.

  • Perform product installs and upgrades.

  • Configure communication between the IBM i and other computing platforms utilizing TCP/IP.

  • Collaborate with other departments, customer IT personnel, and third-party technology providers.

  • Complete project bids and/or work effort estimates.

  • Create process documentation, including system definition, installation and support procedures, and functional requirements of the product

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support customers after normal business hours including weekends.

  • Keep customers informed of enhancements, installations and support efforts; may assist the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and business function.

  • Mentor, train, develop, and provide support to less-experienced co-workers.

  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 4 years of programming, IBM i OS, or network management experience.

  • Experience with one or a combination of RPG III, RPG IV/ILE, RPG Free and CL.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience KAFKA and/or Python.

  • Experience with SQL.

  • Understanding of XML.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, FTP, and other networking protocols.

  • Understanding of Transport Layer Security (TLS) and digital certificates.
