Great Southern Bank Loan Collateral Protection Supervisor in Springfield, Missouri


Under limited supervision, but following existing policies and procedures as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, is responsible for the daily supervision and operations of the loan collateral protection team. Ensures all tasks and procedures are completed in a timely and accurate manner including but not limited to hazard insurance tracking, force-placement of coverage review and tracking, insurance claims handling, flood insurance review and tracking, real estate tax tracking, delinquent tax handling, and escrow payments. Keeps the Loan Servicing Manager informed and updated regarding all issues affecting his/her area of responsibility.


  • Coordinates and supervises the daily operations of the loan collateral protection staff. Provides leadership and monitors daily activities while providing support, guidance, and training as needed. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  • Works closely with subordinate staff evaluating their performance, developing their abilities, and improving their output. Responsible for the selection, placement, counseling, and salary administration of all staff in his/her area of responsibility. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  • Works closely with the management team to develop action plans, procedures, and training materials for respective area. Ensures all subordinate staff is knowledgeable of all policies and procedures to make sure compliance regulations are maintained. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  • Monitors and performs quality assurance testing on the various processes within the loan collateral protection area. Ensures the integrity of loan and collateral information that is distributed from the bank’s core system to vendors. Reviews various weekly and monthly reports. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

  • Reviews the third party vendor tracking programs to ensure the program remains compliant and effective. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  • Assists with difficult and complex customer issues. Responsible for problem resolution tracking, reporting, and root cause analysis when applicable. Guides research for more complex problems and recommends improvements to the management team. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


  • Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.

  • Equivalent to four years high school or GED.

  • 19 to 23 months related experience and/or training.

  • 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
