Position Summary
As a member of the enterprise provider data governance team, the Data Governance Analyst will embrace and implement the strategic framework of the data governance program for the provider data domain - including critical data linkages to interrelated data domains (member, claim, clinical). The Data Governance Analyst will help envision future state, assess current state, and bridge gaps to improve data management, data standardization and data quality practices. We are looking for an individual who is adept at building strong relationships with other people while at the same time being an expert on the data we support, data governance tools and processes. Core responsibilities include:
Navigates data ecosystems to document data flows to validate (and visualize) data lineage for data elements required for key business operations
Captures metadata and data transformation rules for critical data elements for entry into a metadata repository
Develops and implements data quality profiles to assess and monitor data quality levels including dashboards and summary reporting with supporting detail information
Ensures the timely and effective communication of data quality issues to data stewards and cross-functional SMEs, aids in root-cause analysis, and develops & implements process improvements for resolution
Works with data stewards and cross-functional teams to prospectively analyze changes in business processes that impact system data flows
Understands the business operations and processes that the data ecosystems and data flows support
Collaborates with Information Technology teams to ensure systems and data solutions support the requirements and functionality of the business operations
Develops and maintains standard data governance policies, standard operating procedures and work instructions
Required Qualifications
Five years of experience in business systems analysis and/or development, data and information management or data science/analytics
Health care industry experience working with provider, member, claim and/or clinical data systems and data domains
Experience working with data analysis and reporting software tools
Aetna Standard Reporting Tools such as Power BI, EXCEL. SQL
QNXT and/or EPDB database experience
Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with and implementing Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management, Data and Metadata Management programs and solutions
Knowledge of data and metadata management concepts and processes
Knowledge of Data Governance frameworks and operating models
Knowledge of database and data modeling concepts
Experience writing policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions
Experience with data governance toolsets (Alation, Collibra, IBM InfoSphere, SAS, Informatica, SAP)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business analytics or related area of study or equivalent relevant experience

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$54,300.00 - $145,860.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
