Position SummaryThe Lead Director Financial Reporting & Analytics will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer in a capacity that leads the Financial Analytics and Reporting Team. Role responsibility is to lead the analytical activities for identifying medical cost initiatives on behalf of the Health Plan completing complex medical cost analysis and presenting findings to cross functional leadership team. Work with constituent areas in the local market, finance, actuarial, growth partners and MEU leadership to execute and influence actionable items to mitigate medical cost drivers. Champion ongoing communication with key stakeholders to maximize collaboration and drive impact. Lead the coordination of complex financial and claims analytics to determine the impact and support local market decisions. Position entails discussing the financial data and impact and assisting the local market to make strategic savings decisions to help lower medical costs. Additional responsibilities include leading the financial validations efforts needed to onboard provider and vendor relationships related to their payment structure and performance evaluations needed to establish KPIs.Required Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Healthcare/Insurance KPIs

  • Financial Modeling and Variance Analysis

  • Contract interpretation and adaptation

  • Basic Database design, data modeling, and ETL automation processes

  • Demonstrates strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners

  • Demonstrates proficiency in building dashboards using BI Tools such as visual studios, Tableau or SSRS

  • Healthcare sector experience preferred

Skill In:

  • Strong analytical ability and familiarity with advanced financial and healthcare concepts.

  • 10+ years of a combination of consulting and financial experience and managing projects or process.

  • 10+ years in finance, analyzing cost, budgets, forecasting, and P&L

  • 10+ years of experience with SQL or other Statistical and Database warehouses.

  • 7+ years of experience with Excel (Reporting & Modeling), Tableau, or SSRS/SSIS/SSAS.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills.

Ability To:

  • Maintain continuous learning curiosity.

  • Develop analytical tools and models.

  • Build, analyze, and communicate the story using data stored in reporting warehouse. This can include preparing easy-to-understand charts, tables, graphs, and other related documents for diverse audiences.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with Leadership.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and departments to reporting and automation solutions that are easy to understand and effective..

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Managed Medicaid experience in complex Medicaid market.

  • Accounting and Basic GAAP as it relates to treatment of revenue and expense items on profit and loss, income statement and balance sheet.

  • Hyperion/S4 Hana.

  • Demonstrated experience in defining and designing KPI metrics.

  • Deep understanding of the various business initiatives across the organization.

Skill in:

  • Managing an engaging and accomplished team of Consultants.

Ability To:

  • Advanced Financial modeling.

  • Partner with the business leaders to define operational KPIs (e.g. Cost, & Financial) to be used to manage operational & business performance.

Education

  • Bachelor degree

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
