Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa, Mallorca is located on a cliff and surrounded by pine forests looking over the fishing town of Port Soller. Its 121 spacious guestrooms and suites, all with private terrace or French balcony, enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea or views of the port and the impressive Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO Heritage site. The hotel offers three restaurants, three bars, two swimming pools and our Talise Spa. The hotel is divided into eleven low-rise structures ensuring that visitors experience a truly exceptional and natural environment.

About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager Luxury position to join our Sales & Marketing Department in Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa.

The main purpose of the position is to maximise revenue development from the Leisure and MICE segments via a structured sales approach. To secure and develop new producing accounts for the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in line with the sales targets.

The key duties of a Sales Manager will include:

  • Effectively manage existing accounts for the hotels. This involves potential needs analysis, determining strategies and revenue targets, relationship building, brick walling activities, monitoring performance, contracting and rate negotiation.

  • Co-ordinate and attend specific industry events and trade shows, representing the hotels and keep a high profile in the marketplace.

  • Co-ordinate sales blitzes to secure business and awareness of Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa.

  • Develop new business wherever possible from all the market segments and sources of business.

  • Provide feedback and explain variances to the DOSM on all sales-related activities, including competitors and recommend what action should be taken to remedy significant variances.

  • Follow up with clients who have used facilities before/have cancelled, to generate bookings

  • Manage systems used to develop sales strategies/activities: Opera, Salesforce, JBI, Delphi, Ideas

  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop and manage co-marketing and marketing contributions with main B2B partner, in line with the budget and purchase timing of each market

  • Represent the hotel at road shows, trade fairs and other events

  • Represent the sales function and the needs of the hotel internally, by establishing excellent working relationships with all hotel departments.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Degree or Equivalent – Essential

  • Minimum 3 years of proactive sales experience with proven document – Essential

  • Experience in a 5-star luxury hotel within an international environment

  • Word-processing skills, preferably with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint – Essential

  • Opera/Delphi PMS experience

  • Write clear and understandable memos and reports
