Job Description

The Pharmacy Data Warehouse is looking for an Applications lead with relevant prior experience in working with and supporting data warehouse systems. The applications lead will work with individuals from within and outside the Pharmacy Data warehouse team to lead various aspects of a data warehouse life cycle such as software development, quality assurance, deployment planning, production stability and compliance management. The applications lead is expected to

  • Lead a team of designers, developers and test (QA) resources to successfully plan and execute projects

  • Lead application and system monitoring monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery, deployment management and Information Security/Compliance activities

  • Ensure production stability, identify root cause of production issues, plan and drive remediation, reduction and prevention of production issues

  • Manage overall compliance health of the data warehouse by working with Information security architects to understand compliance mandates and work with application designers, developers and system admins to implement the required solution

  • Effectively communicate and work with Business customers, IT management and Sr. leadership to articulate problem statements and solution options and track issues to closure

  • Facilitate complex discussions, reconciling differing opinions and drives decision making process

Required Qualifications

5+ years of related experience working with large and complex data warehouse system including the following:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with/supporting an Oracle/Exadata in a multi-terabyte database

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in production and customer support roles of a data warehouse system

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SQL, PL/SQL

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with a batch scheduling tool

  • Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Knowledge of relational database concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • General knowledge about the health care industry, understanding of underlying business functions

  • Data analysis and presentation using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
