This Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill 2 Part Time Personal Care Attendant roles known internally as Support Service Attendant in our Outreach Attendant Services Program in Norfolk County ( Simcoe, Port Dover, Delhi, Waterford ).

Valid driver's license,proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle required.

Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, 25 hours per week.

Starting wage is $22.52, with paid mileage. This wage is inclusive of the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government (base wage starting at $19.52).

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Assists consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

  • Personal care

  • Lifts and Transfers

  • Rising/retiring

  • Bowel and bladder procedures

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Range of motion exercises

  • Other light housekeeping duties

· Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.

March of Dimes Canada provides attendant care to its clients. Support Services Attendants work a variety of shifts (i.e., weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations.

Qualifications and experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification

  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Consumer based care.

  • Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties

  • Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours

  • Valid driving license and reliable vehicle required
