Food and Drug Administration Operations Research Analyst in Silver Spring, Maryland
These Direct-Hire positions are located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Office of the Pharmaceutical Quality (OPQ), Office of Quality Surveillance (OQS). Division of Quality Intelligence I and II (DQI I and DQI II) and Division of Quality Data Science (DQDS).
Participates as a team member in studies/projects that require the design, adaptation, and application of mathematical and statistical approaches in the evaluation of office programs.
Conducts background investigations, collects and analyzes scientific information from various sources.
Locates and collect requisite data, analyze and interpret pertinent information, draw conclusions, and present findings, that include making recommendations that affect related conditions.
Develops analytical models for use in preparing evaluation criteria, testing sequences and data collection requirements.
Drafts analysis plans and selects methods and data sources and develops analytical reports.
Presents actual or potential problem areas, trends, or similar factors to improve program operations and systems.
Conditions of Employment
The position of Operations Research Analyst falls under the 1515 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-12/13, you must meet the following: Basic Requirements
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Minimum Qualifications
