This job posting will be used to one part-time vacancy within the Minnesota Veterans Home - Silver Bay. This position is a rotating shift; day/evening. The day shift is 7:00am-3:30pm, the evening shift is 3:00pm-11:30pm. The work schedule will include at least 48 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for partial employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.

Deliver licensed practical Nursing care with in the LPN scope of practice, as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, for residents. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to promote the well being, health and safety of residents in a person-centered, long term care environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse, in good standing

  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and take legible notes

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a long term care environment

  • Experience working with Veterans

Additional Requirements

This position requires successful completion of the following:

  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.

  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
